EL can be <1 mm in thickness and hence does not
increase the overall thickness of a module
EL has high initial brightness which will gradually
reduce under normal driving condition. Some EL can
have time to half the initial brightness (half life)
or typically 8.000 hours. After the half life, the
brightness will still decrease but at a reduce rate.
Hence, it is sometimes claimed that EL has almost
unlimited service life.
Standart color is blue-green. Other colors are available
on special request.
Specially designed inverter using 5 volt input
is required to drive EL. Typical specifications of
a small inverter is shown below.
