Touch Panel - 4 wires

AMT’s 4-wire touch screen provides full functionality in a low-profile unit. It is best suited for smaller screen sizes, such as for mobile consumer products or portable test equipment, where compact size and low power draw is a priority. The 4-wire touch screens also provide high clarity and durability.
The 4-wire touch screen uses two layers to create X- and Y-axis measurements.
The flexible top coversheet acts as a uniform voltage gradient, and the bottom substrate acts as the voltage probe. It excels at small size touch screen applications.

Touch Panel - 5 wires

AMT’s new 5-wire touch screens provide high clarity, exceptional durability and reliability. The 5-wire touch screens are offered in four sizes — 10.4",12.1”,15"and 17” — and provide the ideal solution for repetitive applications such as point-of-sale and restaurant systems.
The 5-wire touch screens utilize the bottom substrate for both X-axis and Y-axis dimensions. The flexible coversheet acts as a voltage-measuring probe or current-measuring probe only.

Touch Panel - 8 wires

AMT’s 8-wire touch screen is the standard for rugged environments where the touch screen unit is larger than 10.4 inches. The advantage of the 8-wire touch screen is its ability to withstand extreme heat, humidity, airborne contaminants; it is also immune to voltage and resistance fluctuation. The 8-wire design is recommended for factory machinery, industrial applications, voting machines, KIOSK and other larger size electronic applications.
The 8-wire touch screen is the same as the 4-wire touch screen, with each edge providing one more sensing line as a stable voltage gradient for the touch screen controller, and the other axis performing an accurate voltage probe.
